Manaslu Annapurna circuit Trek detail itinerary

Our trek to Around Manaslu is a classical trek with 15 days itinerary compared to most walks in this region. The particular route is designed for globe trotters who wish to hike within relax manner than try this special itinerary. Day 01: Arrived at Kathmandu valley

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, Tribhuwan International Airport, we will receive you with private vehicle and transfer to hotel in Kathmandu within B/B plan. Our representative will give you information about further programs.

Day 02: Kathmandu city guided tour – World heritage sightseeing, 6 hours.

After breakfast, we start a guided tour to the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu which are landmarks as World Heritage Sites of Kathmandu city with our professional tour guide. The day tour includes the historic Hanuman dhoka Durbar Square (or Basantapur durbar square or Kathmandu durbar sqaure), the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) and Buddhists shrine (Bouddhanath) which is one of the largest Stupas of Nepal and one of the large stupa in world. In the afternoon, there will be a pre-trip discussion where we can meet our trek leader and other team members. However, we can make all official documents and make ready your permits.

Day 03: Express drive to Arughat – Soti Khola (775m/2,534 ft), 9 hours

Your trekking staff will come to your Hotel early in the morning at 7.00 am to pick you up; from there we have an 9 hour driving journey to Arughat. From Kathmandu to Dhading Bensi for 3.30 hours is comfortable drive but from there to Arugat for another 4 hours we will be driving on dirty road. We drive continue with passing beautiful village of Morder and Simre to reach Arkhat River. After Arkhat we ascend slowly toward Kyoropani and than we reach at Soti Khola at evening. Stay overnight at guest house.

Day 04: Trek to Machha Khola (900m/2,943 ft), 5.30 hours.

The trail descends slowly until you climb again to mountain ridge to Almara. Pass the forest trail to arrive at Riden Gaon. The valley here cuts into another side of the river to enter Budhi Gandaki. At Labubesi, the trail follows down to the sandy river bed of Budhi Gandaki. Camp tonight at Machha River. Stay overnight at guest house.

Day 05: Trek to Jagat (1340m/4,382 ft), 6 hours.

After crossing Machha River and Khrola besi, there is a hot spring called “Tatopani”. The trail follows forested area after this toward Dovan. Below Dovan, there is a huge rapid at Budhi Gandaki. As the elevation increases, the rapids and the scenery undergoes a complete transformation. At Jagat, there is a police check-post where your trekking permit will be checked. Day 06: Trek to Ngyak phedi(2310m/7,554 ft), 6 hours.

After ascending to a terraced hill of Saguleri and view of Sringi Himal (7177 m). we continue towards Sirish Gaon, Gandaki valley narrows from herewith soaring precipitous walls. Stay overnight at guest house.

Day 07: Trek to Ghap (2100m/6,867 ft), 7 hours.

Follow the trail upstream of Deng River – a tiny village of 4 houses. We walk through a newly built rock tunnel from here, thus avoiding the traditional steep climb. At Ghap, the Tibetan culture begins with Mani stones and chortens all around. Stay overnight at guest house.

Day 08: Trek to Lho (3200m/10,464 ft), 7 hours.

After crossing the wooden bridge over Budhi Gandaki we follow the path lined with houses that are interspersed with cultivated fields. At Namru, there is a police check post again. After Namru, across the Hinan river originating from Linda Glacier and continue on to Sho. Naike peak, Manaslu north (7774 m) and Manaslu (8150 m) are visible from here. Tonight we fix the camp near a spring at Lho gaon – a small village. Stay overnight at lodge / guest house.

Day 09: Trek to Sama gompa (3500m/11,445 ft), 6 hours.

You will pass the stone gate and long Mani stone wall of the village after Lho with full view of Peak 29 ahead. You can make a side excursion to Pungen Glacier from here to get a very close up view of Manaslu. Follow the lateral moraine of Pungen Glacier toward Sama. From the village of Sama, it takes another 20 minutes to reach Sama Gompa for overnight stay at guest house.

Day 10: Samagaon exploration day.

We will spend a day here in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning of the air and also for local excursion to visit Birendra lake. You might take a long excursion roughly about 8 hours to get Manaslu base camp. Return to lodge for stay overnight.

Day 11: Trek to Samdo (4500m/14,715 ft), 5 hours.

Today, we climb a terraced hill on the opposite bank of Budhi Gandaki River from here toward a most remote permanent settlement to Samdo. Here amid the most sever conditions of nature live some 200 in forty houses check-by-jowl. Stay overnight at guest house.

Day 12: Cross Larkya La (5215m/17,053 ft) and trek Bimthang (3590 m), 8 hours.

We first climb towards Cheo danda and then slowly head steeply uphill towards the snowed covered over the moraine and glacier up to Larke pass. Larke pass summit offers an excellent view of Himlung Himal (7126 m), Cheo Himal (6820 m), Gyagi Kung, Kang Kuru (6981 m) and the Annapurna II (7937 m). Descending is more difficult rather than ascending as the trail is thin and steep. However we walk over the landslide and old moraines towards Bimphedi. Bimthang is a great place of widely open sandy ground. Stay overnight at lodge.

Day 13: Trek to Tilje (3900m/12,753 ft), 7 hours.

The route gets easier today. We start with a gentle climb through paddy fields towards the small Karcha La pass and descend through big tree and rhododendron forests to Tilje. Stay overnight at guest house.

Day 14:Trek to Chame (2,630m /8,600 ft), 5 hours.

From Tilije we descend first then cross a suspension bridge and ascend until we reach Thoche village. After which we follow a fairly straight trail and come across a Power House for electricity production in Bagarchhap village. On the way from Bagarchaap to Chame we negotiate a few steep forested ridges, along with several landslides on route. Remember to look up though, as you will be rewarded with sensational views of some of the major Himalayan peaks like Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV (7,525m). Overnight at Guest house.

Day 15:Trek to Pisang village (3,300m/10,791 ft), 5 hours.

The day starts through deep forest in a steep and narrow valley, crosses a river on a long bridge at 2910m. Then we cross another bridge at 3040m, from there the view of the soaring Paungda Danda rock face really begins to appear. From there the trail joins to climb to Pisang, which sprawls between 3200m & 3300 m. in the late afternoon, visit upper Pisang for Manangies and their lifestyles and as well as amazing Himalayan view. Overnight at Guest house.

Day 16: Trek to Braga village (3,475m/11,363 ft), 8 hours.

The trail leads you through the drier upper part of the Manang district, cut off from the full effect of the monsoon. Leaving Pisang, we have alternate trails north and south of the Marsyandi River which meets up again at Mungji. The southern route by Humde, with its airstrip, at 3325m which involves less climbing than the northern route via Ghyaru, though there are better views on the trail that follows the northern bank of the river. From Mungji the trail continues past the picturesque but partially hidden village of Braga where we stay overnight.

Day 17: Trek to Manang Village (3535m/11,559 ft), 40 minutes.

As you just hiked to Manang village, you can stay there for exploring around. This helps you some how to acclimatize your body. We recommend you to spend doing some fine walks to the Gangapurna view point and glacier for better view. Stay overnight at Guest house.

Day 18:Trek to Yak Kharka (4,050m/13,244 ft), 4 hours.

Trek leads through cultivated land of Tanki Manang. We make the climb steadily through Tenki Manang, leaving the Marsyandi Valley. The trail makes an ascent of nearly 500m to the Yak Kharka. Continuing along the Jarsang valley, you can see some Yaks grazing. Finally we reach at Yak Kharka where we stay overnight at Guest house.

Day 19:Trek to Thorong Phedi (4,450m/14,552 ft), 3 hrs.

After ascending for two hours the trail descends to cross the river at 4310m, then we climb up to Thorong Phedi at 4450m. There are good guest houses and offers very good foods, Bakery as well as Internet and telephones are also available here. Overnight at Guest house.

Day 20:Trek to Muktinath (3,800m/12,426 ft) via Thorung La pass (5416m/17,710 ft), 8 hours.

Today is challenge day rather than others. We begins our trip from very early in the morning. At sunrise, as we need to set out early to complete the crossing of the Thorong La at 5416 m. The trail is steep right from the start, but with a slow and steady pace, we should reach the summit within three hours. Prayer flags and hot tea await us as we reach the highest point of our trekking. Our descent to Muktinath is long, but the views of border Himalayas and Dhaulagiri family are simply amazing. Muktinath is a large settlements with several lodges to choose from. Hot showers and a good meal will allow for a quick recovery after today’s long and difficult excursion. Overnight at Guest house.

Day 21:Trek to Jomsom Bazzar (2,665m/8,715 ft), 5 hours

For the first part, you need to walk downhill to get Ekle bhatti than the trail goes through kali gandaki river bank up to Jomsom Bazaar. Stay overnight in Guest house.

Day 22: Fly out to Pokhara city, 25 minutes.

After early breakfast in the morning we check in the airport at Jomsom and fly about 25 minutes to reach Pokhara. When you land in Pokhara our guide will transfer you to Hotel at Lakeside. Rest of the day enjoy by walking around the lake, shopping or boating in the lake. Or you can do half day sightseeing such as visiting Devi’s fall, Gupteswor cave, Tibetan refugee camp, Tal Barahi temple / Seti george… etc. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 23:Drive to Kathmandu

Morning we’ll drive back through the scenic countryside and during the route will stop for breakfast & lunch. It takes 7 hours back to Kathmandu. On arrival at Kathmandu guide will transfer to the hotel and rest of the day relax or explore the surrounding areas and overnight at hotel.

Day 24:Final departure day

Drop you in Kathmandu International Airport onward your final destination and our trip ends. Wish you your wonderful journey.

Answer: During the trekking route there are all places hotel and shops where you can able to buy mineral water and you can buy it for drinking but however we advise against buying mineral water in plastic bottles, as currently there are no provisions for disposing of these. Instead, we provide you boiled water or bringing chlorine tablets to purify the normal water as the normal water is available in camp site/along the way.

Question: Can I charge my digital camera or other batteries on my trip?

Answer: During the lodge trekking there will be more chances to charge the battery. We recommend to you bring extra pair for in case. Remember to bring your adapters! An extra battery will be recommended.

Question: How much distance do I walk each day?

Answer: When walking in the mountains, the distance you cover each day can vary greatly due to gradient, terrain and altitude. As such it is very hard to give specific distances on each day, however you have to be prepared to walk roughly about 5 hours each day.

Question: Do I need walking polls ?

Answer: Walking pools are recommended but not compulsory.

Question: How much additional money do I need per day?

Answer: You can allocate US$ 08 – 10 for a lunch / dinner in Kathmandu and it depends on your spending habits. US$ 7 to 10 US$ each day will be enough to buy bottles of water, chocolates, tea coffee and some drinks while you are on trek.
