Mardi Himal Trek is considered to be an ideal place for trekking and mountaineering in Nepal. No doubt, a trek to Mardi Himal takes you into one of the most untouched areas of the Himalayas. Located in the east of the Modi Khola, Mardi Himal is separated from Machhapuchre ridge by a col (5,200m) and reaches the summit via the route on its east flank. One can find few villages along the trail and the trekkers are required to walk through the forests. The trek provides wilderness that culminates with spectacular close up view of Annapurna, Fish Tail (Locally known as Machhapuchre), wilderness trek in Annapurna area, flora and fauna, beautiful village view, alpine forest, Gurung and Thakali culture, eco friendly villager as well as the least touristic trek. Mardi ridge trek is appropriate for any trekkers who is looking for easy walking. It is not necessary previous trek or mountaineering experience and also it is not necessary that you must be young and energetic to do this trekking. If you are healthy and can walk 5 to 6 hours daily, you can easily do this trekking. However it would be more good to do daily jugging or walking exercise is recommended before you leave your country. Our program have been prepared including rest day and build up gradually, in order to acclimatize to the altitude. On trek, you can go at your own pace, with plenty of stops for resting.

Receive you in Kathmandu international airport. Then transfer to hotel by private car. If you have time, just couple of hours time sightseeing around downtown of Thamel for renting your trek gears. At evening, briefing about your Trek.Day 02: Fly to Pokhara. Trek to Deurali (2,100m / 6,867 ft), 5 hours.
After breakfast, drive to the airport to get a scenic fly to Pokhara. Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara (takes about 25 minutes) gives you an opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking views of mountains such as Annapurna and Langtang and landscape flying to north over the snow-capped Himalaya and green Mahabharat range to the south are adventurous. Meet the entire team here, then drive almost 45 minutes to reach on Dhampus Phedi by private car. Then the trek ascends all the way up to Dhampus with several stone stairs passing through terraced cultivated fields, settlements, and forests. Dhampus village offers an excellent view of Annapurna range and Mt. Fishtail. Than easy walk through the rhododendron and oak forest until reaching Pothana village which takes about 1 and half hour. We can see the excellent view of Machhapuchhre. The trail takes another 1 hour climbs through the rhododendron forest to a pass with views of the Mardi Khola far below and the panoramic views of Annapurna South and Hiun Chuli to the north, and Pokhara and Phewa Lake to the southeast when we will reach Deurali. Stay overnight at a lodge there.Day 03: Deurali to Forest camp (2,500m / 8,175 ft), 6 hours.
On the way from Deurali to Forest camp, you will have easy through the Pine Forest trail which is again steep ascend hills. The Forest is covered with the most unique flower called Rhododendron. You have to take the packed lunch today as there are not any tea houses or restaurants or hotels on the way to Forest camp.Day 04: Forest Camp to Badal danda (3,150m / 10,301 ft), 5 hours.
An easy walk to get Low Camp where you can see the most amazing and clear view of Mt. Fishtail. Badal Danda is recognized as a view point so it is worthy to spent your overnight here. Furthermore, you can explore the Himalayas like Annapurna south, Hiun chuli and Holy mountain mount Fishtail likewise Chhomrong Village, Ghandruk Village including various plants, animals and birds in that alpine forest, Gurung and Thakali culture and their hospitality. You will be staying overnight at Badal danda in a community based local lodge on this overnight.Day 05: Trek to High Camp (3,550m / 11,609 ft). Hike to the hill station to better view.
The trek starts up having Breakfast towards High camp. After Lunch, we walk further to the viewpoint to get the better view. Mardi mountain Base Camp (4,500m) is another option to walk if the weather looks great. An almost whole day you will be a hike around to discover passing through a series of steep, rocky mountains separated by leisurely walk over the lush green hills and High hills. If weather permits, then you will have an excellent view of Mardi Himal, Annapurna-I, South Annapurna, Hiunchuli, Tent Peak, Gangapurna and Gandarbhachuli, Mt.Fishtail at a side and descend to high camp and stay overnight there.Day 06: Trek from High Camp to Sidding village (1,700m / 5,559 ft), 6 hours.
Have a breakfast with the brilliant Sunrise view at High camp and descend towards Sidding village. Walking back straight descend to the same fine forest you can again see the beautiful red Rhododendron forest. You will get your lunch at Low camp which is at the way back to Sidding(1700m). Sidding is a traditional but simple local village.Day 07: Trek from Sidding to Lwong village (1,460m / 4,774 ft), 6 hours.
After breakfast at the Sidding walk towards Lwong is an easy trek. On your way to Lwong, you reach a place called Ghalel. Ghalel is a small traditional village with some small restaurants and Homestay, so you can have a lunch here. After lunch again start up walking towards Lwong. Lwong is also a traditional old village where you can see the tea garden, ACAP office with some Home stay for you to stay overnight. In the evening, the community mother group will welcome you by singing and dancing in some folk songs at your homestay.Day 08: Lwong to Astam (1,530m / 5,003 ft) 5 hours..
At morning time, a little excursion to Tea garden to explore the brilliant view of the green tea garden and also the view of mountains. Return at the lodge to collect your bag packs, have a breakfast then walk towards to Astam village in few hours. From Astam you can view many of the peaks like Annapurna Range, Mt.Fishtail, Lamjung Himal. Stay overnight at there.Day 09: Astam – Melbot (almost 3hours) to Pokhara city 45 min. drive.
Early Morning view the most amazing sunrise at Astam Village and have your breakfast at the home stay. Walk towards the Melbot where our private vehicle is waiting for you to drop off in Fewa lake side Pokhara. On your way back to Pokhara, you will cross milk river which is known as Seti river in Nepali. As son as you reach in town, you can visit some of the most beautiful landmarks of Pokhara city or go shopping where you can enjoy your moment.Day 10: Explore day around Pokhara valley: Full day sightseeing.
After late breakfast, we start our sightseeing to explore Pokhara city. The worth able places such as Fewa Lake, Devi’s Fall, Bishwa Shanti Stupa (World Peace Stupa) or Seti George, International Mountain Museum, Tibetan refugee settlement, and Gupteshower Cave. Rest of the time, you can either take a relax at our hotel or visit the markets for shopping. Overnight at hotel.Day 11: Fly / or drive to Kathmandu. Or extend your trip on request.
We will drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus through the road passing terraces, streams, rivers, local settlements, high hills and along the river side. If you are interested to fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu with extra cost (USD: 110 each person) for the fly ticket. 20 or 25 minutes flight journey offers a spectacular of Annapurna Himalayas inclusive Mt. Fishtail, Dhaulagiri and Manaslu, high hills, terraces, local settlements, and forests.Day 12: Final departure day.

Answer: Mardi himal trekking is suitable for keen trekkers/walkers who are able to walk around 5 – 6 hours in a day, with a light weight rucksack. For Mardi himal lodge trek – yes, you need to have experience of walking 5- 6 hours a day in high altitude – somehow about 3000M above sea level.Question: What kind of accommodation can I expect on express Mardi himal trek?
Answer: We do provide you 3-star category hotel accommodation in Kathmandu and during the trekking there would be normal hotel accommodation which offers basic clean facilities with a mattress and blanket. We can also offer you sleeping bags if needed (which need to return after the trip) but it is always a better idea to own sleeping equipment.Question: What kind of food can I expect in lodge mardi himal Trek?
Answer: All the guest houses/lodges in the trekking they have attached restaurant and they cook a delicious range of mostly vegetarian such as Pasta, tuna bakes, noodles, potatoes, eggs, dhal bhat, bread, soups, fresh vegetables (variety depends on the season).
