Description of Bhotekoshi River Rafting
Bhote Kosi is known as the River coming out from Bhote, the desert land of Tibet. The Kathmandu / Lhasa Arniko Highway runs along beside the river. You can run a day trip or do a two-day expedition and run parts of the river twice. It's a great beginner river for rafters and fun for kayakers at all levels.
Bhote Koshi is the beautiful for adventure trip with very steep and basically non-stop mountain river only 3 hours drives from Kathmandu offering tow days of intense and challenging river activity. Bhotekoshi River Rafting Detail Itinerary
Arrival at Kathmandu valley (1350 m)Our representative or the owner of Gokyo Treks & Expedition , Ammar Raj Guni pick you up in kathmandu international airport (TIA) then transfer to the hotel. Check in to the Hotel, refreshment and if you have enough time permits than short hike to Swayambhunath Stupa (known as Monkey Temple) or an option trip to Kathmandu Durbar Square (ancient kings palaces). Return to hotel. At evening enjoy the welcome dinner sitting together with us.
Mount Everest experience mountain flight then Kathamndu valley sightseeing (World heritage sites listed by UNESCO)
Today early in the morning you will do mountain flight to explore the tallest mountains of Himalaya, Nepal. After one hour scenic mountain flight, we take you to the Pashupati nath temple (Hindu’s most holy temple) on your return where you can see how Hindu’s cremate. Around Pashupatinath temple, you will have your breakfast.
After an hours of sightseeing around Pashupatinath temple, we take you to the Boudhnath stupa, the tallest stupa in the world. Then we drive further to Kathmandu Durbar square.
The Durbar Square area is actually made up of two sub areas. The outer complex is renowned for numerous interesting temples such as Kumari Ghar, Kasthmandap, Shiva-Parvati Temple, Jagannath Temple, Big-bell etc., while the inner complex comprises the old palace area, Hanuman-dhoka and its courtyards such as Nasal Chowk, Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk, Lohan Chowk, Mohan Chowk, Basantapur Durbar and others. There are many temples in the inner complex also, most notable being the Taleju Temple dedicated to the female royal deity.
Kathmandu to Rafting Spot and program starts95 km east from Kathmandu is the starting point Lomosangu - Dam of the Bhote Koshi Rafting trip. This is a spectacular drive through villages and if weather permits, you will have fantastic mountain views i.e. Ganesh Himal, Langtang etc, we raft the first 10 km of the most exciting stretch of the river and then return to the start to play again the same stretch the next day rather than continue with only half a day paddling to the end. Drive back to our camp.
Rafting and Back to KathmanduAfter breakfast a quick pack up and set out (approx. 9 to 10 a.m.) run white water hit again a class 3 rapid starting from upper section. You have the second chance to show how your rafting team can work well together in challenging rapids. We have lunch on the river and continue the action until the take out point Dolalghat Bazaar about 2 to 3 p.m. and bus back to Kathmandu. Finish trips, however, if you want to extend your holidays with us, just let us know.
