I am happy to give you details of our trekking trip with Ammar.  We were a group of four (my wife, our daughter and her boyfriend) and we started on October 20 th from Kathmandu , flying into Lukla and trekking for 16 days up Everest base camp and Kalapattar. This was our third time of trekking in Nepal , before we had been in Langtang/Gosainkund and in the Annapurna region up to ABC, and the Everest region is certainly the most spectacular one. But, obviously, it is also the most crowded one.
Ammar had been a perfect guide for us, extremely helpful in choosing the proper lodges, getting our food ready in time, and just making life as easy and entertaining as possible. Although he is young, he has a lot of experience in these regions, and, what is very helpful, a lot of friends among the locals. This can be useful: for example the boss at the airport of Lukla is his friend. You might have heard of problems arising in Lukla when the weather is bad for several days and the planes cannot fly. Then tourists are getting nervous because they might miss their international flights. And here Ammar´s friend would be very helpful and find you a place on a plane for flying out. Furthermore, Ammar´s rates are quite decent, much cheaper than when you book with one of the large trekking organizations. And finally, he managed to choose three porters for us which were the best we had. They even came back several times, after they had reached the day's destination, to help us with our own bags. I had never experienced that with other porters we had so far.

 I would like to recommend my guide Hari Guni, and i was highly satisfied with his work. i had the pleasure to visit nepal in 2004 with a group of 7 Persons. I was highly impressed of the country and the cultural sites. Hari was a lovely guide. He was always happy and explained much of the cultural sites, talked abaut the high mountains and described the culture of nepalese people. He always looked after our health and well beeing. So i can really recommend Hari, which is a great tour guide. |

Regarding feedback: I’m an easy customer, so I have not much to report. Som is an excellent guide and companion, and although it’s difficult to compare him to the first Annapurna Trek that accompanied me for the Gosaikunda trek, there is a gap that can only be ascribe to Som ’s experience.
Many thanks for the spectacular month I spent in Nepal, it was nothing short of epic and an unforgettable experience, I would like to extend my gratitude to Ammar, Hari P. Guni, Sri Pam and Som Bdr. Shrestha who accompanied me for the Annapurna Jomsom - Muktinath and Surya kunda Pass Treks and catered all my needs and more. Everything was planned perfectly and executed better.

Wir haben mit einer Gruppe von 4 Personen im Oktober 2007 mit der Agen  tur
Gokyo Treks & Expedition (P) Ltd, Kathmandu, P.o.Box 8974 CPC 260, Thamel,
eine Trekking-Tour zum Kala Patthar unternommen. Wir haben unser Ziel bestens
erreicht und können die Agentur und ihren Führer Ammar Guni wärmstens em-
pfehlen. Ammar hat uns Nepal und vor allem das Solu Khumbu auf eine sympathi-
sche, persönliche und sportlich leistbare Art näher gebracht. Sein
Trägerteam war mehr als hilfreich, z.B. bei der Quartierbeschaffung
und Begleitung auf
bestimmten Wegstrecken. Die fachliche Kompetenz sowie das Wissen über Land
und Leute aber auch über die Fauna und Flora Nepals sind außerordentlich.
Ammar kann dies sowohl in Englisch als auch in Deutsch vermitteln.
Die Preise der Agentur sind fair, die Vertragstreue steht außer Zweifel! Die
Flexibilität Ammars in schwierigen Situationnen am Trek oder z.B. bei den
Flügen nach oder von Lukla ist beachtlich. Er hält gute Kontakte zur örtli-
chen Bevölkerung, vor allem zu den Lodge-Betreibern, was sich auf die Abwick-
lung des Treks sehr positiv auswirkt (Bedienung, Essen, Quartier). Es ist
fühlbar, dass bei der Argentur das Wohl der Gäste erste Priorität besitzt.
Wir empfehlen die Agentur und Ammar Guni gerne weiter und werden sie bei einem
nächsten Nepal Aufenthalt gerne wieder in Anspruch nehmen. |
