| |
Gokyo Treks & Expe dition has catered the needs of mountaineers climbing Everest Expedition/ Mountaineering in a professional and committed manner. Mt. Everest 8,848 m (29,028 ft ) high, on the border of Nepal and Tibet , in the central Himalayas lies in Nepal . It is the highest elevation in the world , called Sagarmatha ("Goddess of the Sky") in Nepal and Chomolungma ("Goddess Mother of the World") in Tibet . It is named in English and received its official name in 1865 in honor of Sir George Everest , the British Surveyor General (1790–1866, British surveyor, b. Breconshire, Wales, UK) Worked on the trigonometrically survey in India from 1806 to 1843 who had mapped the Indian subcontinent. He had some reservations about having his name best owed on the peak climbing , arguing that the mountain should retain its local appellation, the standard policy of geographical societies. He became superintendent of the survey in 1823 and surveyor general of India in1830. He was knighted in 1861. Mount Everest was first climbed on May 29, 1953, when Sir Edmund Hillary from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay from Nepal reached the summit Top of the world/ Sagarmatha . The body of George H. L. Mallory, who died in an earlier attempt (1924), was found on the mountain in 1999. To climb the highest Mount Everest expedition in the world is the dream of virtually every mountaineer. Everest embodies the very symbol of achievement and will always be the mountain to climb and we provide professionally led strong team of Sherpas to make the expedition a grand success. After 29 years of numerous attempts, Sir Edmund Hillary from New Zealand and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa became the first people to stand on the elusive Everest expedition summit on May 29, 1953. These courageous climbers ascended Everest base camp through to the Everest South Col from the Khumbu Glacier and continued their ascent to the summit via the Southeast ridge. Everest Climbing Route is now referred to as the Everest Normal route and will be also the route that we use every year in the pre-monsoon season. This route also offers the greatest chance of success climbing Mt. EVEREST . Now Nepal Mountaineering Association provide the Expedition permit, Expedition royalty and other rule and regulation through easy way to reach climbers destination.
